Los Angeles, 13 Jul.- El productor y actor Mel Gibson retornará a la pantalla grande con el protagónico de la película "El castor" (The beaver), drama que será dirigido por Jodie Foster, reportó hoy aquí la revista "Variety".

De acuerdo con la publicación especializada en los espectáculos, Gibson interpretará a un hombre deprimido que encuentra consuelo al usar una marioneta de guante que asemeja a un castor.

El también cineasta, de 53 años de edad, en fecha reciente estuvo inmerso en un escándalo público, al confirmar su divorcio y se dio a conocer que su novia Oksana Grigorieva, de 38 años, espera a su primer bebé procreado por ambos.

El rodaje del filme está programado para iniciar en septiembre en la ciudad de Nueva York. Gibson y Foster habían trabajado juntos en el largometraje "Maverick" (1994).

El actor de "Corazón valiente", "Mad Max" y "Arma mortal", así como director de "Apocalypto" y "La pasión de Cristo", con una fortuna estimada en 900 millones de dólares, podría verse obligado a darle a su aún esposa Robyn la mitad de sus bienes, una vez que se concrete el divorcio.
