NUEVA YORK (AP) - Fue tanta la risa que Michael Peña terminó arruinando algunas tomas de su primera comedia, "Observe and Report".

"Tuve que luchar para no reírme a carcajadas ... ¡Arruiné tantas tomas! ... La comedia es algo nuevo para mí, así que fue difícil", confesó a la AP el actor de ascendencia mexicana, mejor conocido por dramas como "World Trade Center", "Lions and Lambs" y "Babel", en una entrevista reciente.

La cinta, dirigida por Jody Hill y protagonizada por Seth Rogen, se estrenó el viernes en Estados Unidos y recaudó 11,1 millones de dólares el fin de semana, con lo que quedó en el cuarto lugar de la taquilla detrás de "Hannah Montana: The Movie", "Fast & Furious" y "Monsters vs. Aliens".

En la misma Peña interpreta a Dennis, un guardia de seguridad de un centro comercial que ayuda a su mejor amigo, el guardia con desorden bipolar Ronnie Barnhardt (Rogen), a atrapar a un exhibicionista que anda espantando mujeres.

Avances de películas

La película también cuenta con las actuaciones de Ray Liotta como el Detective Harrison y Anna Faris como Brandi.

"Yo hago de este tipo que quiere ascender en la vida y quizás llegar a ser un proxeneta", dijo el actor de 33 años, hablando en una mezcla de inglés y español, quien dijo tenía años queriendo conocer al protagonista del filme.

"Seth trabajó en un show favorito mío, 'Freaks and Geeks' (1999-2000), y en 'Superbad' (2007), 'Knocked Up' (2007). Quería trabajar con él... Y el director Jody Hill hizo una comedia que me encantó ('The Foot Fist Way'), muy diferente a lo que sale de Hollywood".

Peña, quien dijo volvería a hacer comedia tras esta "maravillosa" experiencia, aparecerá próximamente en el drama "My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done" de Werner Herzog, con Michael Shannon, Chloe Sevigny y Willem Dafoe.
