LOS ÁNGELES, Estados Unidos, jun 21, 2009.- El estreno de la primera comedia romántica La propuesta, con la actuación de Sandra Bullock y Ryan Reynolds, atrajo a suficiente público para convertirse en la más taquillera del fin de semana en Estados Unidos y Canadá, con 34,1 millones de dólares, según cálculos preliminares de los estudios cinematográficos difundidos el domingo.

La película de dibujos animados Up quedó tercera, con 21,3 millones de dólares y un total acumulado de 224.1 millones, mientras Star Trek superó los 200 millones de dólares, el segundo filme en cruzar esa barrera en 2009.
