El autógrafo, debilidad para algunos y molestia para otros en Hollywood

Los Ángeles (EEUU), 19 mar (EFE).- El autógrafo, un trofeo para los fans, es un precio que tienen que pagar las estrellas del espectáculo por su fama aunque, a la hora de cumplir con el arte del garabato, no todos en Hollywood lo hacen con una sonrisa.

Tobey Maguire, Joaquin Phoenix, Renée Zellweger, Bruce Willis, Scarlett Johansson o Julie Andrews se encuentran entre los diez peores firmantes de autógrafos de la industria del cine en 2007, según una lista que elabora anualmente la revista Autograph Magazine.

Un caso significativo es el de Maguire ("Spiderman"), que suele encabezar la clasificación de los que menos autógrafos conceden, aunque el año pasado fue superado por Will Ferrell ("Semi-pro"), poco habituado a aparecer en esos registros.

"Es reacio a firmar e inaccesible a los fans", aseguró a Efe Steve Cyrkin, editor de la revista, en la que se comenta que Maguire incluso se enorgullece de evitar estampar su nombre en un papel cuando se lo pide uno de sus seguidores.

Como contrapartida, el autógrafo de Maguire es uno de los más caros de Hollywood en el mercado de coleccionistas ya que, debido a su escasez, puede superar los 250 dólares.

Una cifra a la que se acerca Tom Cruise, a pesar de ser generoso con sus firmas (su autógrafo fluctúa entre 95 y 250 dólares), mientras que el del flamante ganador de un Óscar, Javier Bardem, cotiza entre los 60 y los 120 dólares.

Entre las excusas para no firmar, los argumentos van desde no entender por qué hay que dar autógrafos (Joaquin Phoenix), hasta "no puedo, no me dejan" de William Shatner, el conocido capitán Kirk de la serie de televisión Star Trek, pasando por la falta de tiempo, o "si firmo a uno tengo que firmar a todos", de Julie Andrews.

"Cada vez es más difícil porque muchos famosos lo consideran algo molesto y cada vez hay más gente que los busca. Sin embargo, es bueno que se presten a ello y atiendan a sus fans, todo depende de la manera en la que uno se acerque a ellos y el momento en el que están", explicó Cyrkin.

Pero los hay que sí se prestan a ello con generosidad.

Tal es el caso de Matt Damon, George Clooney, Jack Nicholson, John Travolta, Russell Crowe o, el más entregado de todos, Johnny Depp.

"Le encanta agradar a sus fans. Aunque de pocas palabras, le gusta conocerles un poco cuando firma, incluso firmará más de uno si tiene tiempo", según comentó un tratante de autógrafos neoyorquino sobre Depp a Autograph Magazine.

Aunque pudiera parecer lo contrario, Nicholson es otro devoto de sus fans, y suele atender de buen agrado a quienes se le acercan en un partido de baloncesto de los Lakers a pedirle una firma.

De hecho, muchos visitantes de Los Ángeles llegan con la ilusión de encontrarse de casualidad con alguno de sus ídolos del cine, en una ciudad donde unos persiguen la fama y otros a los famosos.

"Los autógrafos son una extensión de quienes los firman, de su cerebro a su mano y de ahí al papel, son parte de ellos y por eso valen tanto", señaló Cyrkin, quien reconoció que actualmente la manera más fácil de conseguirlos es a través de internet.

"Aunque no es algo nuevo, el fenómeno de los autógrafos crece con fuerza debido a la facilidad para comerciar con ellos gracias a las nuevas tecnologías. El problema es que hay muchas falsificaciones y es bueno consultar a algún experto antes de adquirir uno", indicó.

Si finalmente el turista, con pocas posibilidades de tropezarse con su ídolo por las calles de la gigante urbe de Los Ángeles, desea el preciado garabato, existen otros medios para conseguirlo.

Uno es el libro Celebrity Black Book creado por la empresa Contact Any Celebrity de Jordan McAuley, un antiguo cazador de autógrafos que desde joven coleccionó direcciones de famosos, algo que con el tiempo paso de afición a convertirse en un negocio.

La guía de McAuley incluye nombres como los de Salma Hayek, Jennifer López, Antonio Banderas, Ricky Martin o Shakira.

"No damos correos electrónicos privados porque no es la mejor vía para conseguir algo de ellos, además, en cuanto se filtra a la gente, cambian inmediatamente de email", dijo a Efe McAuley, reacio a confesar sus secretos sobre cómo contactar con famosos.

Esta vía de comunicación entre fans y famosos, lejos de suponerle enfrentamiento con las celebridades, se convierte incluso en una labor social.

"En los doce años que llevo trabajando en esto nadie se ha quejado de figurar en mis listas. De hecho, algunos famosos y sus representantes contactan con nosotros para asegurarse de que la información que se ofrece es correcta", declaró McAuley.

Otras puertas hacia las estrellas son sus propios portales de internet o la página web MySpace, donde muchos artistas cuentan con su propio espacio para anunciar sus proyectos y relacionarse con sus fans, si bien, matizó McAuley, normalmente los grandes del espectáculo se mantienen al margen de estos foros.
