Los Ángeles (EEUU), 28 may.- La actriz estadounidense Kirsten Dunst aclaró hoy que su ingreso en un centro de rehabilitación en febrero se debió a sus problemas de depresión y no al abuso del alcohol o drogas.

"No fui a Cirque Lodge (Utah) por abusar del alcohol u otras drogas", dijo a la publicación E! la intérprete que acompañó a Tobey Maguire en la saga de "Spider-Man". "Fui por una depresión", agregó.

La actriz, de 26 años y ya una veterana en Hollywood, con más de 30 películas en su haber, explicó que tomó la decisión por cuenta propia tras consultar con sus médicos, su familia y amigos.

"Lo estaba pasando mal -dijo- y tuve la oportunidad de ir a un sitio y cuidar de mí misma. Tuve la suerte de tener los medios al alcance. Mis amigos y mi familia pensaron que era buena idea también, pero no sabía a dónde ir, y mi médico me recomendó Cirque Lodge".

Dunst ha decidido hacer público su problema porque cree que no es la única que se enfrenta a las constantes especulaciones de los medios.

Recientemente algunas informaciones apuntaban a que sus problemas personales fueron la causa de un hipotético despido a cargo de una marca de ropa con quien la actriz había firmado un contrato publicitario.

"Ha habido muchas distorsiones sobre lo que ocurre en mi vida y ha resultado muy doloroso para mis amigos y mi familia", dijo la actriz. "Todo el mundo siente que debe defenderme. Ahora que me siento más fuerte, estaba preparada para decir algo", agregó.
