Los mensajes solían ser bastante macabros, como el que aseguraba que quería vivir en una cueva con el cuerpo de Thurman momificado.
También llegó a chantajear a la familia de la actriz mediante correos electrónicos, en los que amenazaba con quitarse la vida si no lo dejaban verla.
Los cargos a los que se enfrenta Jordan, que tiene antecedentes psiquiátricos, alcanzan una pena entre 90 días y un año de prisión.
Durante el juicio ante la Corte Suprema de Nueva York la actriz declaró que su acosador provocó que estuviera "muy asustada" y que tenía "pánico" de salir de casa. Thurman aseguró que llegó incluso a temer por la vida de sus hijos Levon y Maya, de seis y nueve años de edad, respectivamente.
En otro de los mensajes señaló: "Si una voz te dice que mates a un niño, quizás deberías ignorarlo. ¿Quizás, quizás?".
Jordan explicó que sus acciones "han sido malinterpretadas" y que él sólo quería dar a la actriz "la oportunidad de conocerme" y darse a sí mismo "la oportunidad de conocerla a ella".
Señaló que él estaba predestinado a relacionarse con Thurman y a vivir para siempre feliz con ella y sus hijos.
