Clooney apoya a Obama desde la sombra

Berlín, 23 mar (EFE).- El actor estadounidense George Clooney ratificó su apoyo a Barak Obama como candidato demócrata a la Presidencia de EEUU, pero indicó que lo hace desde la retaguardia porque lo contrario podría ser contraproducente para el aspirante.

"Apoyo a Obama desde el principio, incluso recaudo fondos. Pero desde la sombra, porque como celebridad podría ser contraproducente. Una vez apoyé a mi padre para el Congreso, pero los de Hollywood no impresionamos a la gente del Medio Oeste. Mi padre no ganó. Sin duda por mi culpa", explica al dominical "Welt am Sonntag".

Clooney dice estar seguro de que su candidato se impondrá a Hillary Clinton, su rival, y que será elegido presidente.

Ella, en cambio, tendría en contra el voto de la derecha, que se volcaría hacia el republicano McCain incluso sin estar por él, con tal de impedir su elección. Obama, en cambio, es un candidato que "sabe unir a la gente", dice Clooney.

El actor explica, asimismo, que tiene perfectamente claro que se ha quedado sólo entre sus colegas y amigos que tienen hijos, como Brad Pitt o Matt Damon.

Sin embargo, apunta que el argumento de que debería perpetuar sus genes no le convence: "Mis genes son con seguridad horribles", afirma. EFE
